Inspiration: We found inspiration within our own households. Many times our parents would be searching for someone to come and fix a problem in the household, or need someone to help them remodel. They would spend far too long searching for freelancers to help. So we decided to create QuickFix, a free, almost instantaneous solution, to the problem.
What it does:
It connects clients with freelancers who not only meet their needs, but are shown to them based on location. It also provides instantaneous booking and confirmation to help clients satisfy their needs.
How we built it:
Using AuthO we coded an OAuth login to make sure all users were verifiable. Then, we built the selection of freelancers using Nextjs and javascript. From there we built the instantaneous booking system that we pride ourselves on.
Challenges we ran into:
Learning Nextjs and SASS. Also, while doing the OAuth, AWS was incompatible with Nextjs, so we had to learn AuthO
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We are proud of the stylistic design of our website as well as our easy to use format. We are also proud of our instantaneous booking and our rating system.
What we learned:
Nextjs, SASS, AuthO, and how to incorporate many libraries.
What's next for QuickFix:
Next we will move on to bigger and more markets. We will also provide an ecommerce store and a messaging system on the site for an all-in-one experience.
