Inspiration
In emergencies, locked phones and missing medical info can delay treatment when every second matters. We wanted to create a simple, universal way to share life-saving details instantly — without needing apps or internet. That’s how QuickAid was born.
What it does
QuickAid generates a secure QR code with your essential medical information — blood group, allergies, medications, and emergency contacts. You can download it, print it, or set it as your lock-screen wallpaper, so first responders can access it instantly with a quick scan.
How we built it
Designed a clean landing page to onboard users quickly
Built a form that collects emergency info
Integrated real-time QR code generation using qrcode.react
Focused on privacy — all data stays in the QR code, not on servers
Deployed the app on Vercel for fast and easy access
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the QR lightweight but information-rich
Ensuring QR codes scan reliably across devices
Balancing simplicity and usability within a short hackathon timeline
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully working app in just one week
Designed a tool that can truly save lives in real situations
Created a private, secure solution without storing any sensitive user data
What we learned
How to prioritize user experience under stress scenarios
Building for speed and accessibility is just as important as adding features
The value of rapid prototyping and teamwork during hackathons
What's next for QuickAid
Adding multi-language support for global use
Exploring encrypted storage options for advanced users
