Inspiration
I wanted to try and create a quick way for peers to connect. So why not store all that info into a QR code to share with classmates quickly?
What it does
The app allows users to scan and create QR codes that essentially allows peers to quickly share contact info.
How we built it
I used Android Studio to build the app, as well as other libraries in GitHub for the QR scanning and generating functions.
Challenges we ran into
The hardest challenge was time since the hackathon was only 24-hours. I didn't finalize the app as how I would have liked, but at least it was functional.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to get at least a functional app by the end of the hackathon.
What we learned
I learned how to use different libraries from GitHub and import them into Android Studio. It really helped with implementing the QR code generation and reading.
What's next for Quick Connect UIC
Possibly more refinement so that others may use it and that it will be easier to use.
