When we went to urgent cares when we were injured, we would often have to wait for a prolonged period of time till the doctor could see us. This was very frustrating because we go to the urgent cares because in the name "urgent" we want to see the doctor, see what's the problem, and how we can fix it. However, waiting for a long period of time can cause distress and tension for the patient. With our personal experiences, we were able to relate to what other patients might feel so we created an app to implement wait times of nearby urgent cares, and create an appointment booking system.

The app checks for nearby urgent cares with your current location, provides the wait times for all of the urgent cares within a specific mile range and allow you to book appointments so you don't have to do all of that at the urgent care and have to wait because of people ahead of you. The access to the wait times is beneficial because it allows you to see the wait times so you are well prepared.

We built this app by using python coding for the backend portion, and we used the software Figma to create the user interface so the app can run well. We then converted it into code and checked to make sure that the app functions properly. We also used AI tools to get some ideas on how we can customize our app to look better.

On Figma, some pages on our app broke, and it was difficult to find out which screens had the error. When we fixed it it sometimes interfered with the connections of other screens so it was a hassle trying to get all of them to connect and function properly.

Some accomplishments we are proud of were that the code works exactly the way we want it to, fully working demo app, finished code, video, and structure of the user interface.

During this app comp we learned how to get better at using certain software's, how to implement AI into our user interface (ideas), and how to code better for apps.

In the future, we plan on implementing real time wait time updates, prescriptions, patient reviews and ratings, history log on your previous visits with a description, family care coordination, multi-language support, and location-based notifications. We can even implement a medication information page so all questions patients may have can be answered.
