Inspiration
Team meetings often generate valuable ideas and decisions, but participants frequently spend time taking notes, organizing action items, and following up afterward. We wanted to explore how AI could reduce this administrative burden and help teams focus on discussions rather than documentation.
What it does
MeetingMind is an AI-powered meeting assistant that automatically captures meeting notes, generates concise summaries, extracts action items, and organizes follow-up tasks. The platform aims to improve team productivity by ensuring important decisions and responsibilities are clearly documented and easy to access.
How we built it
We designed the project as a web-based application that combines speech-to-text technology with large language models for summarization and task extraction. The planned architecture includes:
- Frontend interface for meeting management and summary viewing
- Backend service for processing meeting transcripts
- AI models for summarization and action-item generation
- Database for storing meeting records and tasks
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges is ensuring that AI-generated summaries remain accurate while keeping important context from conversations. Another challenge is correctly identifying responsibilities and deadlines from natural language discussions.
What we learned
Through designing this project, we learned more about AI-assisted productivity tools, natural language processing workflows, and how large language models can transform unstructured conversations into actionable information.
What's next for MeetingMind
Future improvements include:
- Real-time meeting transcription
- Calendar integration
- Automatic task assignment
- Multi-language support
- Integration with project management platforms such as Jira, Trello, and Slack
