Inspiration
Right after I signed up for the event, I kept thinking about it. After a while, I just had this feeling of wanting to make a game of handling money, where there is a master of something asking the question and the players will either win money or lose money. Later, we realized that it is very similar to Jeopardy, so we made it similar to it.
What it does
The user sign-up and they have two roles, question master and contestant. Each contestant can answer a question from the question master and if they get it right they get 100 coins, where 1 coin is 1 cents. However, if the question master outwits the contestant then he/she will get double the value! (A unique question from the question master can only be answer up to 1 time from 10 different contestants)
How we built it
We used the Google Cloud Platform-Firebase to store our data, and we used Angular-the front-end application to create the website along with javascript, HTML, and CSS. In addition, we applied the Authorize.net API in our shop to keep track of the transaction within our website.
Challenges we ran into
We were not able to update the existing data points in firebase , and the room/building was super cool at night and the morning, so our computer and brain freezes
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to implement Authorize.net API, Google Cloud Platform-Firebase, and Angular front-end application together.
What we learned
We learn a lot of techniques in making new solution to a problems. In other word, we got creative in making problems go away.
What's next for QuestionMaster.net
First, we want to create different levels of questions which have different awards. Second, we will have have different types of questions like puzzles, mini-games, etc. Lastly, we will create a machine learning model to analyze the questions and answers in our database.
