Inspiration

Professors and students have a lot of challenges both in adapting to online classes and in transitioning back into physical classes. From our own experiences we wanted to make something that would make education more engaging. We initially though to do this with a web app quiz program, we resolved to finish it instead as a discord bot.

What it does

The discord bot generates a multiple choice quiz question, players/students click a response as quick as they can and score points for giving the right answer first.

How we built it

We used the nextcord python discord library in tandem with some OOP concepts to implement the bot.

Challenges we ran into

had a lot of difficulty learning unfamiliar API's
struggled to implement features we were unfamiliar with
initially started with a web app idea, but switched gears to a discord bot too late into the contest.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Discord bot took us 3 hours to make (very quick)!
We were willing to give up on an older idea to try something new!
All the effort we put into making this project, even if most of that effort didn't bear fruit!

What we learned

We've grown to have more realistic standards and more realistic goals
We've learned a lot about the API's and frameworks we used
We've learned to have better time management
Working under pressure and time constraints taught us the value of good time management
