Inspiration

  • It's a running joke among our friends that Chris drinks way too much water; so we decided to embrace that and make a whole game out of it to promote others to share in his drinking problem.

What it does

  • We turned staying hydrated into a game.

How we built it

  • Chris worked on the back-end while Parsa worked on the front-end of the game. The game was written in Java.

Challenges we ran into

  • GUI text disappearing and buttons not working
  • Images not appearing
  • Getting our timer to work concurrently with the rest of the game
  • Centering components or our GUI

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Learning to work with GUI's
  • Creating a functioning game from scratch

What we learned

  • GUI's, Chris had never worked with them before and learned a lot from Parsa

What's next for Quench Quest

  • Visual updates
  • More incentives to play the game (unlockables?)
  • Saving progress
