Inspiration
- It's a running joke among our friends that Chris drinks way too much water; so we decided to embrace that and make a whole game out of it to promote others to share in his drinking problem.
What it does
- We turned staying hydrated into a game.
How we built it
- Chris worked on the back-end while Parsa worked on the front-end of the game. The game was written in Java.
Challenges we ran into
- GUI text disappearing and buttons not working
- Images not appearing
- Getting our timer to work concurrently with the rest of the game
- Centering components or our GUI
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Learning to work with GUI's
- Creating a functioning game from scratch
What we learned
- GUI's, Chris had never worked with them before and learned a lot from Parsa
What's next for Quench Quest
- Visual updates
- More incentives to play the game (unlockables?)
- Saving progress
