Inspiration

My inspiration came from the entertainment used in University football halftime shows. These often involve large engagement with flags, t-shirts, stickers, games, and more!

What it does

This filter adds an AR replica football helmet onto a user, as well as generates interactive particle effects against an effective backdrop.

How we built it

THis was built using Blender, Javascript and Lens Studio

Challenges we ran into

My biggest challenge was getting used to the material system within Lens Studio. I was unsure how exactly to import models while preserving material data but I found Lens Studio's material system to be very easy to understand and integrate upon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am mostly proud of the fact that I was able to make the decals on the helmet function as they should. There were several times I thought it was a lost cause but I am glad I saw it through.

What we learned

I learned in-depth knowledge in Lens Studio and found out I love it!!

What's next for Queen's U Cheers!

I plan on actually promoting this during the homecoming game and events. Even at these early, stages all the peers I have shown this to absolutely love it and started telling their friends about it!
