Inspiration

We recently learned about quantitative trading positions at high frequency trading firms like Citadel and Jane Street, and wanted to create a platform to help people learn the skills it takes to succeed in a position like this.

What it does

Quazzi is a game whose goal it is to expose people to the world of high frequency trading. The game is played with four players who compete to make the "best" trades based on the estimating value of the sum of everyone's cards. These cards are uniquely valued from 30-50 and as the round progresses, more of these cards are revealed. The goal for each player is to accurately predict the values of future cards through a economic market where players can interact.

How we built it

React, Firebase, Sockets, Netlify

Challenges we ran into

Real-time communications, timer syncing, WebRTC video chat

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making a finished product that is hosted and people can check out!

What we learned

Next time building a big project like this, we need to plan ahead to avoid big mistakes in the code base structure.

What's next for Quazzi

Improve the UI and add Video chat in the games
