Our own experiences at uni inspired us to find new ways to connect to people - particularly our first year, going to societies when we didn't know anyone.
Quartet is a web application utilising Gemini AI to ask strangers questions and pick out key traits for an algorithm that sorts users into groups of four, by scoring how well they match, then suggesting a meet up time and location.
Some challenges we faced were: remembering how to use GitHub, trying to decide what the best/most efficient algorithms would be to do what we wanted to.
We are proud of persevering through to find a good way to design the algorithm to create matches with people.

If we had more time in the future we would scale it up with actual users. And have the suggested location to meet be related to the group's characteristics/preferences.
