When we started this project, we believed that technology should subtly complement a person's lifestyle. The places a person visits often speaks strong to their likes and interests.
We used the Strap-Kit API to develop a wearable application for the Pebble. The application, when it is first started, learns the users preferences via a questionnaire. It tracks the location a person visits throughout the day and starts building a profile of where a user travels and what they like to do. It is inspired by the popular web application StumbleUpon coupled with Yelp and powered by the data-rich backbone of the Google Places API. It also leverages a basic learning algorithm to construct the preferences profile. From here, it makes suggests of places a user might like to do, in the context of their likes, current location, time of day, and daily routine. We hope that this application will inspire people to try something new.
