Inspiration

Currently, creators use platforms like Udemy that charge a hefty 67% fee for selling courses on their platform. At the same time, learners do not have any financial incentives to help each other.

What it does

We are building an open and decentralized edtech protocol that benefits the creators via extremely low fees while incentivising the learners to collaborate. We leverage the power of NFTs to standardize the proof of completion and creation of a marketplace for unused subscriptions.

How we built it

NEAR Smart Contracts + The Graph Protocol + NEAR Web3 SDK + React

Challenges we ran into

1. Efficient design of the smart contracts
2. Construction of a subgraph that appropriately indexes the information

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An end-to-end creator platform that can be used to publish courses, while providing an incentivised mechanism for learners

What we learned

The ability of the NEAR blockchain to provide a scalable infrastructure that can support this platform with minimal gas fees.

What's next for Quark Protocol

1. Add forums for learners to collaborate with each other and earn rewards
2. NFTs as proof of completion
