Inspiration

The idea for Quantum Ark comes from the games we love to play & make, free-to-play co-op PvE games that rely on cosmetics. This kind of game has a huge market and pairing it with NFT characteristics like scarcity, uniqueness, and true ownership will unlock unimaginable potentials.

What it does

The Quantum Ark demo we built for this hackathon has 3 main functions as a proof of concept: juicy gameplay, fusing mechanic to produce new cosmetic, and equipping cosmetic to alter the looks of the player. All Skins are NFT using NEP-171 Standard and recorded on the Near Blockchain.

How we built it

Our team is game developers first and foremost, thus we rely on our core competencies to create a playable aesthetically pleasing game using Unity. After that, we add blockchain functions to the game which are: Token, NFT Skin, and smart contract for fusing NFT Skin using Token

Challenges we ran into

Since we have so many ideas on our heads, choosing which one to include in the demo is one of the hardest parts. In the end, we have to work within the limit of the hackathon and have to cut and present the features in a smart way, as long as it can show the true potential of the game

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first blockchain game! We are an experienced mobile game developer, we have made a fun, challenging action shooter game while implementing NFT as the core. We're proud of what the game feels like right now, the satisfying impact that it can produce when you kill the enemies, really makes the players feel powerful.

What's next for Quantum Ark

We are so excited to fully develop the game, in fact, we already have the long-term plan for the project! Our vision for Quantum Ark is to be a blockchain game that is truly “Free to Play” and driven by “Fun”, not for earning. We plan to implement our best practices in free-to-play design and to introduce a “custodial” system, where the player doesn’t have to own a crypto wallet until they’re ready. To do this we’re looking forward to working with like-minded investors.
