Inspiration

Our inspiration came from Reddit, especially its question-and-answer format and upvoting system. Since Reddit is a valuable learning resource for many students, we wanted to reimagine that model as a platform for sharing and discovering student-offered services instead.

What it does

Quaddle creates college-based communities where students can post threads showcasing skills and services they offer to their peers. Student business owners use the platform to market their services and connect with others on campus.

How we built it

Quaddle was built as a web app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. All features like posts, bookings, reviews, and accounts run in the browser using JavaScript and local storage, with no backend.

Challenges we ran into

Due to our inexperience with JavaScript, we initially struggled to make the webpage fully interactive.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Every feature we intended to build was implemented smoothly and works effectively.

What we learned

How to better utilize GitHub/Git for collaboration even while members are not physically present.

What's next for Quaddle

Next, we want to grow Quaddle into a trusted campus marketplace by expanding to more universities, improving discovery and booking features, and helping more students turn their skills into real opportunities.
