Inspiration

Every college student dream of getting their first job but in reality that isn't as easy as it sounds. In our experience we were blindsides by the amount of roadblocks. QuackTrack is designed to help you figure out what you need to do to get to your next step.

What it does

QuackTrack takes your resume and live searches through a catalog job listing using the empllo api to find jobs you are best fit for. Using your desires for what you want in a job it further refines your search. It then guides you on how to apply and even simulates a behavioral AND technical interview using leading research in the field. It then gives you pointers on how to improve your interviewing skill for the real thing. All powered by AI technology

How we built it

For our front end development, we utilized React and Node.js to create 5 unique webpages that linked together with one another. For the back end development, we utilized creating a backend Flask app that was written in Python that helped us scrape the data we needed from certain websites liked LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed and utilized it in our job listings, roadmaps for certain jobs, skills, and coming up with proper mock interview questions.

Challenges we ran into

Having 2 different people working on front end we ran into a issue where their styles were completely different. As such was quite frustering to unify the code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're quite proud of how many different function we were able to build into the webapp in the short time.

What we learned

Each one of us came out of an opportunity using a language or a skill haven't before used, for two of us its react the other two flask.

What's next for QuackTrack

We strive to improve the way QuackTrack attempts to give suggestions to improving resume. In addition with more provide training data we believe we could give better and more concise recommendation on student success goals.
