Hi! This is Jenna, Sophie, and Vaishnavi and we go to Stevens Institute of Technology.

Because we are all attending college in the middle of this pandemic, and are either isolating or socially-distant from others, we wanted to create a one-stop-shop for people in quarantine.

Through our web application, which is currently live and whose link is in our Devpost description, people can learn about fun virtual events and activities that help maintain their mental health during social isolation.

They can also find local restaurants that offer contactless delivery, which both support local businesses and prevents the spread of COVID-19.

We offer live twitter updates from the CDC and offer PPE donation forms, where individuals can donate any extra PPE to their local hospital and the hospitals fill out a form of what PPE they need.

This website is hosted on Firebase, and its databases are also on Firebase, a Google product. The programming languages used are HTML, Javascript, CSS, and PHP.

While creating this website, we used multiple APIs, including Google Cloud Map API in the Food subsection. It finds restaurants in the user’s area and gives a list of those who offer delivery.

We also used Twitter API to link updates from the CDC’s Twitter account.

The hardest part of making this web-app was definitely the databases, but it only took time, effort, a little sleep, and lots of teamwork to get through it.

In the future, we want to make a map of the hospitals in the user’s area and use the information from the database to make lists of what each hospital needs.

Thank you for listening and we hope you enjoy Quackin’ In Quarantine.
