Inspiration
3 of us in our group of four are entrepreneurs, we were fed up with the lack of university funding that is given for programs like ours. We decided to build this so we could fund ideas that are built at universities as they are the future of innovation.
What it does
Our web app connects Alumni with a marketplace of Students showing off ideas, Alumni have the choice to fund projects, proceeds going directly to the Business/Research.
How we built it
We used JavaScript and React for the front end and the back end was python which we used a flask framework. We also Marketed the database on instagram and obtained a real following with interest.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges implementing payment integration, figuring this out the next morning, but this wasted a lot of time for us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the payment integration process, it took a while.
What we learned
We learned not to underestimate DNS configuration, it gave us a problem for a lot of it.
What's next for Quack Backd
I think we might continue with the idea or pivot, its a great idea that could help a ton of students and alumni!
