What inspired QueueNow?
This idea came to me after a recent visit to a government eye hospital in Madurai.
The place was packed, people were standing for hours with no sense of when their turn would come - elderly patients, parents with kids and everyone just stuck in limbo.
That experience stayed with me. I knew I wanted to build something simple yet impactful, something that values time and brings structure to systems that desperately need it.
What does QSeva do?
QSeva is a lightweight queue management app designed for government institutions, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Admins can manage multi-department queues and keep things running with minimal overhead.
How did I build it?
I started by prompting workflows and UI sketches using ChatGPT, and then brought everything to life in Bolt.new. The process was intuitive and fast, letting me focus entirely on the user experience:
- Big tap targets
- Font resizing and basic accessibility
I also laid the groundwork for future integration with DigiLocker and citizen ID systems.
What challenges did I face?
The biggest challenge was designing for simplicity and scale, balancing the needs of a digitally naive user base with government-level volume. I had to ensure the app was usable even on older phones or slow connections, without compromising clarity.
What did I learn?
Sometimes, solving the “boring” problems like queues can have the biggest impact. I also learned how quickly you can go from a real-world frustration to a working MVP with the right tools and mindset.
