Online reviews are extremely important for small businesses. One bad review can lead to decreased visitors and revenue. We wanted to give a more discreet way for customers to provide constructive feedback that can be analyzed and internalized by business owners to improve their service.

On the customers side they can scan a custom generated QR code that will take them to a form where they can rate the service and provide written feedback. The feedback and reviews are aggregated and displayed on a dashboard that the business owner can get insights from.

We used Vanilla JS for the frontend and python/django for the backend.

We tried to make the backend serverless at first but had trouble configuring it so we had to speed up the process and use a server.

We made signs with QR codes and placed them everywhere in the Expo room downstairs after we pushed the app out live. Several people have already provided constructive feedback on how the TechCrunch event can be improved for next year.

People are more than willing to use QR codes to provide their feedback.

We're partnering with business owners and giving out the technology for free to everyone.
