Inspiration
Traditional paper-based parking tickets can be inefficient to manage and may lead to issues such as lost tickets, manual recording, and difficulties in tracking parking transactions.
QPARKIN was developed as a QR code-based digital parking system to replace paper tickets and provide a more structured parking experience for shopping malls.
What it does
QPARKIN digitizes the parking ticketing process using QR codes.
The system allows parking transactions to be recorded digitally, while providing features for tracking parking duration, calculating parking fees, managing digital tickets, and supporting parking operators through an administrative dashboard.
How I built it
The system was designed as a mobile and web-based solution with:
- Flutter
- Laravel
- React
- PHP
- MySQL
- QR Code
- REST API
I worked as the Business Analyst, responsible for identifying user and operator requirements, defining core features, analyzing business processes, and translating requirements into functional specifications for the development team.
I also contributed to defining user flows and ensuring that the implemented features aligned with the identified business requirements.
Challenges I ran into
One of the main challenges was translating the existing parking workflow into a digital process while keeping it simple for both drivers and parking operators.
Another challenge was identifying the requirements needed to support the complete parking lifecycle, from vehicle entry and ticket generation to parking duration tracking, fee calculation, payment, and exit.
Ensuring that business requirements were clearly communicated to the development team also required continuous collaboration throughout the development process.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of helping transform a traditional paper-based parking workflow into a structured digital system.
As a Business Analyst, I contributed to defining the system requirements, user flows, and core functionality that guided the development of the application.
The project also gave me practical experience in analyzing a real-world operational process and translating it into requirements that could be implemented as a software solution.
What I learned
This project strengthened my understanding of business analysis and requirements engineering.
I learned how to identify the needs of different stakeholders, model business processes, define functional requirements, and communicate those requirements effectively to developers.
I also gained a better understanding of how business decisions influence system architecture and feature design.
What's next for QR Code Based Digital Parking Ticketing System
Future improvements could include integration with real payment gateways, automated license plate recognition, real-time parking availability, and integration with mall management systems.
The long-term goal is to develop the system into a more comprehensive digital parking platform that can improve efficiency for both parking operators and customers.
