Inspiration

With the rapid growth of embedded real-time systems and industrial IoT, developers often face fragmented environments when prototyping low-latency tasks. We wanted to build a lightweight, smart solution that streamlines automated micro-task orchestration and host-based validation efficiently.

What it does

QNX Runtime & Host Tooling Simulator is an intelligent automation and auditing utility designed to handle background micro-tasks, interface smoothly with development host workflows, and streamline execution under strict low-latency constraints.

How we built it

  • Developed using a modular Python architecture optimized for rapid execution.
  • Integrated structured JSON auditing and telemetry tracking to ensure high reliability and diagnostic clarity.
  • Utilized robust Python scripts and clean async workflows to simulate real-time host tooling pipelines compatible with QNX development environments.

Challenges we ran into

Handling high-frequency task execution securely while keeping resource consumption extremely low under constrained environments. We solved this by implementing strict error-handling and lightweight JSON payload structuring.

What we learned

We gained deeper insights into fast-paced prototyping, real-time telemetry orchestration, and optimizing developer host tools for rapid execution under tight hackathon constraints.
