Inspiration

From what we experienced in our community queues is a big waste of time

What it does

QNow makes queuing process smarter, what will benefit each the business owner who will gain customer satisfaction & re-buying, also will benefit the customer who will save his time and his health too

How it works

1- If you want to host a queue you submit here: https://goo.gl/forms/XM4zYl33BXfdhkCf2 and after your information is VERIFIED your queue is added to the system 2- If your are the host you can view your queue status from the app: qnow - host also you can share your queue as QR code 3- If you wants to join a queue you scan a QR code and press join and we will provide you a live feedback from the queue

How I built it

We used many tool, but the main ones is : NodeJS and React-Native to create : 1- restful api connected with Atlas mongoDB to store data 2- React-native to provide service to both Android/IOS systems *we were developing a bot but it's not complete due to time shortage

Challenges I ran into

We were new to all tools we use. Because we dreamed BiG and we had limited time we couldn't implement our big idea, Top challenges worth mention is:

  • Understanding React Native concepts such as: props, states and presents
  • add regex to api

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

being able to produce both api, mobile app with tools we never had experience with. completing what we submitted in a week.

What I learned

  • How to create an Android/IOS native app with React-Native
  • How to produce a acceptable illustration video with AfterEffect
  • How to set up a decent RestFul API with NodeJS
  • How to manipulate mongoDB

What's next for QNow

QNow tends to some crucial fixes which will improve the user experience greatly, also need some marketing to be the leader in smarter queuing! We mix virtual life with reality

Developing stage

  • For the sake of testing QR code is replaced with Input box
  • There will be a 3 queue for testing with ids 1, 2 and 3
  • Some future are not included to make the app convenient in testing
