QME.gg: The Social Engine for All of Gaming

What Inspired You?

We grew up in the golden age of gaming, the era of Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, Counter-Strike, and Diablo. Each of these games was ahead of its time, but one thing has always lagged behind, even today: the simple act of finding the right people to play with. Finding friends, teammates, or even just acquaintances who share your interest in the same game, are at the same rank, are stuck on the same MMORPG dungeon, or simply speak the same language remains a challenge.

The industry gives us a new Call of Duty every year, dozens of new MMORPGs, and countless Battle Royales, but no one is truly solving the social disconnect. We decided to stop waiting.

Our inspiration comes from a shared frustration. We have the technology and a thriving industry, yet the core social experience of gaming feels broken. We're not just building an app; we're building the solution we've been waiting for our entire lives as gamers.

What Does It Do?

QME.gg is a modern, cross-platform social network designed to be the central hub for gamers to connect. It's a free-to-use service that complements existing games by providing what they lack: intelligent, user-driven matchmaking queues.

Our platform helps players find each other for any purpose:

  • Cross-Platform Queues: Find players for any game, whether you're on PC, Mac, console, or mobile.
  • Deep Discord Integration: Once matched, you can choose to connect via text or jump directly into a Discord voice channel, which our bot can create for you.
  • Short-Term & Long-Term: Find a squad for just one match tonight, or build a permanent team for the future.
  • Beyond Playing - Watch Parties: We're also for fans. Use QME.gg to find other people who want to watch the latest stream from Ninja, Shroud, or xQc together, creating a community experience outside of the often heavily regulated streamer chat.

For professionals, we will offer Exclusive Streamer Queues. This is a premium service where we handle the logistical nightmare of managing community games, connecting streamers with their audience and even with other creators, solving a bureaucratic headache for agencies and managers.

What Challenges Did You Face?

The primary challenge was designing a system that is robust and scalable enough to theoretically support every game in existence. This required us to move beyond a monolithic application and embrace a more complex architecture from day one.

We built a system of containerized microservices using Docker. Each service (queue-manager, game-info-service, discord-bot) is independent, allowing us to scale, update, and maintain different parts of the platform without downtime. Integrating multiple third-party APIs (Supabase, IGDB, Twitch, Discord, Stripe) into this distributed system while ensuring seamless communication was a significant but successfully overcome technical hurdle.

What Have You Accomplished That You're Proud Of?

We are immensely proud of building a sophisticated, multi-service platform from the ground up in less than 30 days. We didn't just create a website; we engineered a scalable backend that is ready for the future.

Our tech stack is a testament to what's possible with modern tools:

  • Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, React, shadcn/ui, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Node.js Microservices (Express.js, TypeScript)
  • Infrastructure: Supabase (PostgreSQL), Redis (Caching), Docker
  • APIs: Supabase, IGDB/Twitch, Discord, Stripe

By leveraging the power of AI and the incredible tools provided by the hackathon sponsors, we've achieved a level of technical depth, including localization, that would take traditional teams months to accomplish.

What Did You Learn?

  1. Collaboration is Key: Using tools like Bolt.new allowed us to work together seamlessly and transform a shared vision into a tangible product with incredible speed.
  2. AI as an Accelerator: AI and platforms like Claude were not just helpers; they were force multipliers, enabling us to build complex, scalable microservices instead of a simple app.
  3. Modern Tools Democratize Development: The combination of Supabase, Stripe, Netlify, and other sponsors removes traditional barriers. We could focus on building our dream, not on managing infrastructure.
  4. The Power of "Just Doing It": The most important lesson was to finally tackle the problem that has bothered us for years. We stopped complaining and started building.

What's Next for QME.gg?

This is just the beginning. Whether we win or not, our journey with QME.gg has only just started. Our roadmap is clear:

  • Launch dedicated mobile apps for iOS and Android to expand our cross-platform reach.
  • Onboard our first wave of streamers to the exclusive queue system.
  • Continuously refine our matching algorithms to create even better player connections.

We have the technology and the vision to unite a fragmented gaming world. QME.gg is poised to be the next revolutionary step in the gaming industry. We're not just queuing for a game; we're queuing for the future of gaming.
