QLYQ — AI Developer Workspace

Inspiration

Developers often work across multiple tools to manage projects, track tasks, understand repositories, and solve coding problems. Switching between these tools can interrupt focus and make development workflows harder to manage.

We wanted to build a workspace that brings these activities together and makes the development process more organized and efficient.

What it does

QLYQ is an AI-powered developer workspace designed to bring project management, task tracking, GitHub context, and an AI assistant into one environment.

It aims to help developers organize their work, understand project context, and move from planning to implementation with less friction.

How we built it

QLYQ is built using a modern web application architecture with React and Vite for the frontend, Node.js and Express for backend services, and MongoDB for data management.

The project also includes an MCP server designed to expose developer-focused tools through the Model Context Protocol, enabling an AI assistant to interact with supported development workflows.

Challenges we faced

One of our biggest challenges was bringing different parts of the developer workflow into a consistent experience. We worked on connecting the frontend, backend, project data, and AI tooling while keeping the interface understandable and easy to use.

Integrating repository context and designing a useful assistant workflow also required careful attention to how information is accessed and presented.

What we learned

Building QLYQ helped us explore full-stack application development, AI-assisted workflows, MCP tool integration, and the importance of designing software around real developer needs.

We learned that an effective developer assistant is not just about generating answers. It should understand context, connect to useful tools, and help developers take meaningful actions.

What's next

We want to continue improving repository-aware workflows, AI-assisted project management, and integrations that help developers move from ideas to shipped software.
