Inspiration

Personally, I have struggled with paying fees for my education and acquiring online skills due to financial constraints and this problem is faced by many Cameroonians. We ( I and my team ) were inspired by the disparity in access to quality education, particularly for youths in Cameroon who cannot afford traditional schooling. We recognized the potential of technology to bridge this gap and provide personalized learning experiences. Our goal is to make education accessible, affordable, and effective for all.

What it does

Introducing QLearning: Revolutionizing Education for Youths QLearning is a pioneering online platform dedicated to providing personalized learning experiences for young individuals. Our mission is to make quality education accessible to those who cannot afford traditional schooling or seek to enhance their learning. Leveraging the cutting-edge GEMINI artificial intelligence, QLearning crafts customized study plans tailored to individual preferences and learning styles. Simply complete a brief questionnaire outlining your interests and study habits, and our Gemini AI will curate the best free resources - including books, videos, and courses - from leading platforms like YouTube, Udemy, Class Central, and more. Receive your personalized study plan via QR code directly to your email or on a convenient physical plastic QR card, enabling seamless access to learning materials anytime, anywhere.

HOW DID WE BUILT IT

To develop QLearning, we:

Conducted comprehensive market research and analyzed existing education platforms to inform our approach.
Created a user-friendly questionnaire to gather valuable insights, enabling us to tailor the website to users' needs.
With the expertise of our web designer, we crafted the visually appealing front-end design of the website.
Due to limited development resources, we planned to leverage cutting-edge GEMINI AI technology to analyze user inputs, curate relevant resources, and store data securely in Google Cloud Database.

Challenges we ran into

Our goal is to recruit experienced developers proficient in Python, AI, and Machine Learning to elevate our project to the next level. But it was a big challenge to see anyone.
We did not know how to seek guidance on establishing strategic partnerships with prominent education platforms (such as YouTube, Udemy, and Class Central) to integrate their high-quality content.
It was a very stressful process as well, sleepless nights, managing a team etc

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are thrilled and proud to discover, through our research, that numerous youths in Cameroon eagerly desire a platform like ours to enhance their studies and learning experiences.
We are also happy that such a platform will help assist in solving the problem of gender equality, providing young girls, especially those in rural Cameroon, with equal opportunities to access quality education and develop skills in technology.

What we learned

The strong abilities Gemini AI has in prompt engineering.
The power of artificial intelligence (AI) in tailoring education by analyzing these learning styles to better draft study plans.
The vast array of free, high-quality educational resources available online but many people don't know nor take advantage of them.

What's next for QLearning

As the customer is paramount, our ongoing online research polls are guiding our development. Based on valuable feedback, we're tailoring QLearning to meet customer expectations.

To facilitate a timely launch, we're expanding our team with skilled developers to integrate the GEMINI API. This aligns with respondent demands, who anticipate a launch within 3-6 months.

Furthermore, we are to make strategic partnerships with esteemed educational platforms which will ensure QLearning's quality and success. Collaborations will ensure QLearning's quality, effectiveness, and objective achievement."
