Inspiration
One of our teammates experienced extreme difficulty in finding a medical caregiver for her senior living at home. And they had to change their life, job and compromise on safety to find someone. Also, when one of them was sick during the current corona time, they were she was under immense mental trauma because of staying alone and not able to find someone to assist.
What it does
QareUp connects paramedical staff and other caregivers with those who are desperately in need of their services. We helps to find verified and trusted caregivers, nurses, nursing assistants nearby and also based on the reviews and recommendations by other users. We ran a survey to identify the needs of these target customers and found that Safety, reliability and limited access was the biggest issues. Also, most of them were unsatisfied with the current available options. Our solution includes ability to choose caregivers based on skills, ratings and reviews. We also plan to provide basic Personal care aid training to people who are interested to serve these needy thorugh partner institutions.
We will have 3 sets of providers.
- Experts who are registered para medical staff for advance geriatric and personal care.
- People who earned PCA/HHA certification through our platform
- and lastly those who offers basic cleaning and daycare services which doesn’t require training.
Our business model will be a B2B2C model through insurance companies and hospitals to reach the customers.
How we built it
Through glideapp and wix.
Challenges we ran into
Lack of a backend developer, UI/UX developer greatly affected our ability to build the prototype. We have our
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We validated the needs and problems with surveys and interviews with almost 100 participants in a short period of time. Our assumptions turned out to be right. We have formulated the strategy and business model as well the marketing channels. We have published our website qareup.com and obtained mailboxes.
What we learned
Necessity to have people with coding experience in the team to translate our ideas and visions to a platform.
What's next for QareUP
To partner with online educational platforms and other offline institutions to make training access to people who want to take up caregiving as part time work. There is a huge shortage of these services all across Europe. We want to make any one with empathy, compassion and passion for healthcare to be able to help people during this crisis. We have listed few Personal care Aide and Home health aid services that are offered online. Initially we plan to team up with them and later venture into offline partnerships.
Develop a native app by hiring a backend and UI/UX developer to create the app as well the website.
Populate the app with caregivers by launching the app in Madrid and later scale up to other EU nations.
