Inspiration
Our inspiration was our personal experience as we personally did not know when and where Islamic events took place. But when we joined the NOVA sisters club we came across tons of events which we had no idea of. When we asked our friends and family If they came across any such kind of issues and everyone told me about how good it would've been if they knew about all the events and conventions taking place without going through a lot of research of connections. So then We created the app "Qabaila".
What it does
Qabaila is an app that allows muslims to easily access the events happening in their area and abroad.
How we built it
We used the MIT App Inventor to make the app and we transferred the data using google spreadsheet. We Also used the Firebase to authenticate the email and password entered.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into issues with data collection and data integration. We couldn't figure out how to incorporate the images into google spreadsheet with a proper format. Also It took us a lot of time to familiarize ourselves with the MIT app inventor
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the the data we got, how we classified the data, How much we learnt from the Hackathon and how our App came together.
What we learned
We learned how to use MIT App Inventor and how to integrate the data from google sheets to be incorporated.
What's next for Qabaila قَبَائِلَ
Our future plan is to make everything automated. Were planning to link our google excel sheet with ai so that the app on its own classifies the information by using instagram api and we will be widening our information source once we get a sufficient audience. We’re also planning on making a tag which the organizer can be use anywhere on twitter as well as insta so that it could automatically get added into our resources so that the organizers can cover up on our audience easily as were planning to direct our app to the tagged post so that the organizer can cover up our audience easily.
