Inspiration

We wanted to create a quick yet entertaining system that will incentivize customers to frequent a store more often.

What it does

"Q-pon" provides an interactive interface for the user to play trivia and possibly win some discounts for the store they are about to shop in. If the registered user answers the trivia question correctly then they get a chance to spin a wheel. The prizes on the wheel consist of points and discounts that can be used for in-store purchases. This app will act as a loyalty program with the points that will incentivize the customers to come back to the store and use those points before they expire at the end of the month.

How we built it

We used Figma for building the prototype of how the app version of the application would work. We also created a webpage using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. In order to create the logo/character, we used Canva.

Challenges we ran into

During UI designing, we had difficulty in choosing how to design the interface so that it would be aesthetically pleasing and would have an element that would attract the users. We also had a hard time getting CSS and Javascript to work together. We had tough times with Canva when trying to merge multiple working parts together into one singular file.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some accomplishments we are proud of consist of creating a functional prototype in Figma and a website about what “Q-pon” is and does and how it could work in the future, coming up with a project idea that would truly come in handy in the real world and making our own brand and mascot.

What we learned

We learned to utilize our resources such as Figma for students as well as our skills in CSS, Java, HTML to code and design the essentials of our app “Q-pon”. We also learned soft skills such as time management, teamwork, conflict resolution, responsibility, and task management.

What's next for Q-pon

Our goal is to create a mobile app version as well as a web application so that users can interact with this on multiple platforms. However, due to time constraints, we were only able to implement some parts of the web application and create a prototype. Moreover, a future advancement in this project can be where the user would be able to use the points they have accumulated with their online shopping as well.
