Inspiration

By focusing on inclusivity, education, and accessibility, Q-Pal has the potential to create a ripple effect. One job can lift a family out of poverty, one training program can unlock a person’s potential, and one connection can lead to a brighter future.

What it does

Our platform connects job seekers to blue-collar job opportunities that require minimal qualifications, focusing on typical Filipino jobs like kasambahay (household help), kahera (cashier), tagabantay (guard), driver, and more. Whether you're looking for your first job or seeking a quick employment option, our platform helps you find the right opportunity fast and simple.

How we built it

it is built with React for the frame work and also utilized Material Ui for the library, and Firebase firestore for the database.

Challenges we ran into

Making the SMS API work was our biggest challenge, we tried twilio, and infobip both didn't worked out in the api it was successfuly sent but we can't receive any messages from the API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Did the Ui/Ux and front end and even the backend with the timeframe needed as this is our first 24 hour format of hackathon so we feel proud for it!!

What we learned

Through building Q-Pal, we learned that technology has the power to create meaningful social impact when designed with empathy and inclusivity. We understood that the challenges faced by jobseekers—lack of access, high qualification barriers, and limited resources—are not insurmountable but require thoughtful solutions.

What's next for Q-Pal

We really wanna push the project for deployment and partnership with agencies and LGUs for the possibility of making this project happen, scaling to a wider target audience catering the jobs for people and possibly onboaring employers and job seekers
