Inspiration

Snake Xenia was one of the most popular mobile games of its time, and I'm sure many of us have fond memories of playing it on Nokia devices when we were younger.

I remember spending hours playing Snake Xenia on my trusty Nokia phone, trying to beat my high score and make it to the next level. The game was simple yet addicting, and I loved how it challenged my reflexes and strategic thinking.

I used to play Snake Xenia during long car rides or while waiting for appointments, and it always helped pass the time. I remember feeling so proud of myself when I finally beat my friend's high score or made it to a new level for the first time.

Even now, years later, I still get a wave of nostalgia when I think about playing Snake Xenia on my Nokia phone. It's amazing how something as simple as a mobile game can bring back such powerful memories and emotions.

What it does

The game is about a snake that gobbles up food and increases in length each time it eats up. The snake's length and speed increase proportionally to increase the game's difficulty.

How we built it

I used classes and the Pygame library to implement all the afeatures in my game.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the sprites to smoothly work together for the snake was quite challenging. That said, I should have completed the game within the next week. I want to see it through. I know I'm missing something

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I have been able to create a game I can play in my free time and enjoy myself. It does fill me with nostalgia whenever I play it. It's my precious creation.

What we learned

I learnt how to create an executable out of a python file. I also got exposed to pygame through this hackathon. I figured it would be a good way to learn something new and get good exposure as far as my programming skills are concerned

What's next for Python Xenzia

I plan to complete the game within the week. After improving the graphics and the usabilty, I'll share it to my friends on campus for them to have a share of this simple but addictive game.
