Pyramids Enigma: Unveiling the Ancient Blueprint
Inspiration
This project came from a real curiosity about how the pyramids were actually built, who built them, and what the whole process really looked like.
What it does
This is a one-page interactive web app that lets you explore how the Egyptian pyramids were designed and built — and who was behind it all. Here’s what it offers:
Evolution of Giants A timeline showing how pyramid design evolved, starting from early mastabas to the famous ones at Giza — with side-by-side visuals showing how they grew in size over time.
The Engineering Enigma Explore leading construction theories, with short explanations, pros and cons, and how widely accepted each theory is today. You can even use AI to dig deeper into any of them.
The City of Builders A look into the lives of the actual workers — not slaves, but skilled laborers. Interactive cards show their routines, what they ate, and what it cost them physically.
Pyramid Scholar An AI chatbot you can ask anything about the pyramids — from how they were built to who built them.
Voices from the Past Primary sources, including notes from Merer’s logbook — a rare, firsthand account of what it took to build the Great Pyramid.
How I built it
The app was built with common web tech and some great libraries:
Frontend: HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript to handle all the interactivity.
Charts: Chart.js helped build the visual comparisons — like pyramid heights, worker lifespans, and food breakdowns.
3D Visualization: I used Three.js to display and control the 3D pyramid model.
AI Integration: The chatbot and theory expansion tools use Google’s Gemini API.
Behind the scenes, there was a lot of historical research, design work to keep things easy to follow.
What's next for Pyramids enigma : Unveiling the Ancient Blueprint
More Pyramids: Expanding the timeline and including more historical structures.
Upgraded 3D: Switching between different pyramid models, adding interior views, or adding annotations.
Visual Construction Theories: Creating simple animations or diagrams to show how different building methods might’ve worked.
Multilingual Options: Translating the content to make it more accessible worldwide.
