Inspiration
Huge agricultural banana waste and the fact that plastic pads take 500 to 800 years to decompose inspired us to create a sustainable alternative.
What it does
What it does Our project "Pyari Nari" converts discarded banana tree waste into 100% chemical-free and completely biodegradable sanitary pads.
How we built it
How we built it We extract natural fiber from banana stalks, process it safely for high absorbency, and use low-cost machinery to produce skin-safe pads .
Challenges we ran into
Challenges we ran into Processing raw, coarse banana fiber into a soft, highly absorbent material while keeping machinery costs low was our main challenge .
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully built a circular economy model that cleans the environment, manages farm waste, and supports women's hygiene.
What we learned
What we learned We learned how local agricultural waste can solve massive pollution problems and empower rural communities through flexible work.
What's next for Pyari Nari
What's next for Pyari Nari We plan to get official health certifications, scale up production units, and make these affordable bio-pads accessible to everyone.
