pvp bot

Inspiration

This bot was inspired by turn-based combat games such as Pokémon and also by other discord bots that host games such as one called Acro.

What it does

The bot allows you to do a PVP battle against others in the discord server.

How we built it

We built it in Python on Repl.it using the discord.py API

Challenges we ran into

We initially had problems getting the bot to be able to read messages, we got blocked from discord for an hour and had to take a break from our project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a bot that actually responds to discord users and lets them play a (we think) fun game.

What we learned

We learned how to use discord.py to program a discord bot. We also learned how to use asynchronous functions, which were key for this project.

What's next for pvp bot

More weapons, More spells, a shop to buy stuff in between battles, and better aesthetics.
