Inspiration The inspiration for "Purr G: BALLS" came directly from my cat, whose carefree, zen-like existence stands in stark contrast to modern hustle culture. The project is a lo-fi tribute to his simple philosophy, serving as a humorous, animated reminder to slow down and find joy in the present moment. What it does "Purr G: BALLS" is a narrative music video where a charismatic cat drops a smooth track about his enlightened, stress-free life. It’s an animated fable that blends entertainment with a lighthearted critique of our fast-paced world, all building to a comedic punchline that cleverly reveals the simple secret to his chill demeanor. How I built it As a solo creator, my workflow was a direct collaboration between my own performance and AI. I began by writing and making a song inspired by my cat. I then used AI tools to translate my recorded rap animations into the character's lip-sync and dance movements into his animation. The setting and character were brought to life by using AI to restyle real footage of my apartment and my actual cat, blending reality and animation into a cohesive anime aesthetic. Challenges I ran into The greatest challenge was time. Simply I didn't had enough time to make it as good as I wanted it due to other responsibilities. Technically, the main hurdle was maintaining character consistency across different AI generation and animation tools (cat like cat--human like cat), which demanded precise engineering and careful selection to keep "Purr G" looking like himself. Accomplishments that I'm proud of I'm most proud of creating a character with genuine heart and humor through a novel, performance-driven AI workflow. The project's success lies in its ability to connect with viewers emotionally while showcasing an innovative use of technology. The entire process was incredibly fun, and I believe that joyful energy shines through in the final piece. What I learned This project taught me that AI is an incredibly powerful creative partner that can amplify a solo artist's vision. I learned that the most compelling results come from feeding the AI direct human input—my voice, movements—and letting it interpret that performance. Technology can build the world, but the soul of the project comes from that human element. What's next for Purr G : BALLS "Purr G" feels like a character with more stories to tell.
