Inspiration

We wanted to stay on theme and provide some sort of interactive experience for the users that would prompt the user to think about gender bias.

What it does

Once you land on the page, you are prompted a situation, you would then choose between one of the two actions displayed, once you have chosen, it gives you feedback on the option that you chose, you can then click next to go on to the next situation.

How we built it

We used create react app to build the webpage, we then used HTML and CSS to position and design the look of the webpage. we used figma for design and vscode to collaborate.

Challenges we ran into

The very first challenge we ran into was how we would structure a way to give a non-offensive and non-biased experience to the user, coming up with the situations and the feedback we had to stay completely unbiased which wasn't the easiest thing to do but we figured it out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get a functional quiz type experience going, we were successfully able to get our next button to actually go to the next question.

What we learned

We learnt how to use create react app, most of us had never coded in react so it was a good first experience for a couple of us. We learnt how to create a quiz type game and all the functionalities of it. We deployed a website for the first time as well.

What's next for Purple

We would like to make some changes to the UI and add some more situations, maybe figure out a way to pull some data from some APIs to display on our website
