Introducing Pupil. A simple web app powered by AI, that allows students to upload PDFs of their course outlines and lectures, to get learning resources and schedules tailored to them.

Inspiration

As students we face the challenge every semester of organizing our courses, creating calendars, and keeping track of deadlines. With the help of AI, we can significantly increase the efficiency of time management by having AI automatically lay out your schedule for you.

What it does

Our tool does three main things: Allows users to upload PDFs of their course content, which then the AI takes this information and imports it into a calendar which displays all important dates. Another is that is takes all of your lectures as PDFs and creates detailed summaries for them, saving you time for studying. The last feature we have is that we have a chatbot assistant powered by Google Gemini, which can help the user create a study guide for their upcoming tests and assignments for multiple classes.

How we built it

We used Gadget’s full stack development capabilities to make this project a reality.

Challenges we ran into

Utilizing Gadget and its built in co-pilot was a bit of a challenge. Especially implementing the Gemini AI and having it summarize lectures for us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we came up with such an innovative idea that saves us as students a lot of time.

What we learned

We learned a lot about web development and how stuff like this takes time and shouldn’t be completed within a 36 hour window.

What's next for Pupil

We hope to continue this project past the hackathon and offer it to real students to manage their courses and study efficiently. We personally will be using this project for our courses, since this is a problem we all share together.
