Inspiration
I wanted to be a pumpkin elf for Halloween and wanted to make my elf extra sparkly and even spooky.
What it does
It is an elf hat costume that flashes LEDs and plays spooky music based on different triggers such as pressing buttons, shaking the hat, and light sensors.
How I built it
I used JavaScript to program the adafruit circuit playground along with the LED lights (neopixels that are controllable with LED lights) and used metal thread to sew the hardware onto my hat.
Challenges I ran into
Programming the board and lights the way I wanted to work was a challenge as well as sewing the LED on the right way. I had to fix my program multiple times and test to make sure my wires were sewn on correctly.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud of being able to finish my elf project within this short amount of time given and using JavaScript for the first time.
What I learned
Programming seems like a challenge at first, but once you understand it, it becomes more fun but time consuming.
What's next for Pumpkin Elf
More LEDs and bodysuit with more hardware.
