Inspiration
I've always been passionate about building solutions that solve real problems. Looking around, I noticed that many environmental and public health challenges in our communities like flooding, waste pollution, poor sanitation, and disease outbreaks which keeps repeating. The frustrating part is that people usually respond only after lives and livelihoods have already been affected. I wanted to build something that helps people make better decisions before these problems become crises.
What it does
Our platform is an AI-powered intervention planning platform that helps governments, NGOs, organizations, and communities identify and prioritize environmental and health risks before they become crises. By combining citizen reports with climate, geospatial, and public health data, it detects high-risk hotspots, prioritizes interventions, and provides decision-makers with real-time insights to allocate resources more effectively.
How I built it
I started by researching environmental and public health challenges, validating the problem with potential users, and studying existing solutions. I then designed the platform around AI, machine learning, GIS, and cloud technologies to aggregate multiple data sources, analyze risk patterns, and visualize actionable insights through an interactive dashboard. The solution was built with scalability and accessibility in mind so it can be adopted by governments, NGOs, and communities.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges has been bringing together different data sources into one solution while making it simple enough for different stakeholders to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I developed a platform capable of identifying environmental and public health hotspots, prioritizing interventions, and giving stakeholders the tools they need to make faster, evidence-based decisions.
What I learned
I learned that AI and data become much more powerful when they're combined with insights from the people who experience these problems every day. Building this project has taught me to design with the user first and validate every assumption.
What's next for Untitled
Our next step is to start pilot deployments. Our long-term vision is to become the leading environmental and public health intelligence platform for building healthier, safer, and more climate-resilient communities across Africa.
