Inspiration
During a medical emergency, seconds can save lives yet most people don’t have fast access to help. We imagined a world where AI, real-time maps, verified volunteers, and blockchain credentials work together to bridge that gap in local communities.
What it does
PulseBridge is a hyper-local emergency response platform. It connects citizens with nearby trained volunteers, hospitals, and AI triage through: 1.Voice-based symptom triage powered by GPT-4 2.Real-time emergency alerts and maps 3.Verified responder NFTs via Algorand 4.AI mentor videos & health advice 5.Community dashboards and impact tracking It’s accessible as a web app and mobile PWA — even offline during emergencies.
How we built it
1.Frontend: React 18 + TailwindCSS + Framer Motion + TypeScript 2.Backend: Supabase (DB + Auth + Realtime) + Netlify Functions 3.AI: OpenAI GPT-4o for triage, ElevenLabs for voice 4.Blockchain: Algorand NFTs for volunteer credentials 5.Payments: RevenueCat integration for subscription tiers 6.Maps: Mapbox for real-time tracking 7.PWA: Vite + Service Workers for offline mode 8.AMP: Blog optimized for fast mobile SEO
Challenges we ran into
Streaming real-time voice & AI responses smoothly Syncing volunteer dispatch with real-time maps NFT minting for volunteers in a healthcare-safe way Building a mobile-first PWA that’s fully responsive & offline-ready Managing dozens of animations without hurting performance
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Real-time triage-to-dispatch pipeline Clean, Apple-grade design system with smooth UX Fully working offline-capable PWA NFT-verified volunteer onboarding Live maps and voice-powered help requests Fully working MVP demo within the hackathon time limit
What we learned
How to integrate GPT-4o and ElevenLabs for natural language triage How to stream real-time location and incident data with Supabase How to mint NFTs programmatically with Algorand How to build a performant, secure PWA from scratch How small, human-first design choices matter a lot in crisis situation
What's next for PulseBridge
Add location-based responder scoring and smart matching Government & hospital pilot programs Integrate with local 911 systems & health record APIs Expand to disaster relief and rural healthcare networks Improve AI triage accuracy with real-world health data Launch as an open-source global health initiative 🚑🌍
