Inspiration: When accepting an NAACP award, Rihanna stated that for there to be change, we cannot just post on social media. Allies need to "pull up" to do the work. Inspired by her words, we created a platform that makes it easier to bring people together for social good. We agreed that bringing people together makes that much more of a difference, so we focused Pull Up on organizing together, volunteering together, and donating together.

What it does: There are options to organize a community event or volunteer at one. The goal is to facilitate the amelioration of our communities. Anyone can fill out a form to generate an event page and link. They share the link and invitees see the event details and pledge to pull up.

How we built it: We used HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to create forms where people can post the type of event they are hosting or find events they will be interested in. First, we made mockups of each page on Figma, and then we all used code to render the webpages.

Challenges we ran into: We initially had wanted to add a Donate page but did not know how to guarantee the financial security of users. That will be something to add next.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We added a password-protected option which helps in keeping social activists who use this platform safe from those who may have alternate agendas.

What we learned: We learned a lot about form submission!

What's next for Pull Up: We will continue to flesh out our ideas and create functionality for organizers to send out announcements.
