Inspiration
Pornography addiction is a growing but often invisible crisis — especially among young people in Indonesia. Stigma prevents millions from seeking help, and access to mental health professionals remains limited and expensive. Most existing tools lack cultural sensitivity, and fail to provide the holistic support needed for long-term recovery.
Pulih (Indonesian for "to recover") was born from the belief that everyone deserves a private, judgment-free companion on their path to healing — one that fits in their pocket and speaks their language.
What It Does
Pulih is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that provides a comprehensive, private, and supportive ecosystem for people recovering from pornography addiction. It combines habit tracking, AI-powered coaching, educational content, and direct access to licensed psychologists — all in one mobile-first platform.
For Users:
- Streak Tracking — Visual day-counter with mountain-climb progress visualization that celebrates every milestone
- Daily Check-In & Journal — Log your mood daily, write about struggles and achievements, and build self-awareness habits
- Emergency Button — Instant coping tools when urges hit: review your personal manifesto, follow guided exercises, or watch emotion-regulation videos
- Smart Analytics — Understand your patterns with trigger analysis (boredom, stress, media, mood, location), time-of-day insights, and AI-generated behavioral notes
- AI Companion "Billy" — A friendly chatbot that provides 24/7 emotional support and accountability
- Education Library — Curated video content about understanding addiction, dopamine science, and motivational recovery stories
- Community Support — Connect with others on the same journey — because recovery is easier together
- Professional Consultation — Book sessions with licensed psychologists (Psikolog Klinis) directly within the app
- Personalized Onboarding — 16-step assessment flow that understands your situation and creates a tailored recovery plan
For Psychologists:
- Schedule Management — Set and manage practice availability through an interactive calendar
- Session Dashboard — View patient sessions, complaints, and appointment details
- Pricing Setup — Configure consultation rates for free and paid sessions

Frontend
- Next.js 16 with App Router for modern, server-component based architecture
- React 19 leveraging the latest concurrent features
- TypeScript for type-safe development across the entire codebase
- Tailwind CSS v4 for rapid, utility-first UI development
- PWA via
next-pwa— installable on any device - Mobile-first design mimicking native app experience
Backend
- Bun as our JavaScript runtime for ultra-fast startups, routing speed, and native TypeScript execution.
- Hono web framework to build a lightweight, fast, and type-safe REST API endpoint structure.
- Separate TypeScript service handling user authentication, session data, database persistence, and AI models integration.
- Two-repository architecture for clean separation of concerns and independent deployments.
Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

What We Learned
- Mental health applications require a fundamentally different design approach — every micro-interaction must be evaluated for emotional impact
- The power of PWAs as an accessible alternative to native apps, especially in regions where app store downloads can be a barrier
- How to design multi-role platforms that serve both consumers and professionals within a unified codebase
- The importance of cultural context in digital health — direct translation is never enough
- To preventing to somekind of addicted, we can do 3D methods (Delay, Distract, Decide)
