Introduction

Puddle is a consumer-first savings app on Aptos. Think of it as a group piggy bank: friends drop their stable-coins into one “puddle,” and our router quietly places the money in the safest, best-yield spots on the chain. No crypto know-how required.

How we built it

1. Yield-to-GUI Auto-Compound – Each epoch, earned yield is swapped into $GUI and staked, creating steady buy pressure and locked liquidity.
2. Boosted APY Pools – Seasonal “GUI Boost” pools offer higher returns for users who keep the toggle on, driving token demand.
3. Collectible Postcard NFTs – First-deposit NFTs gated by GUI Mode add shareable bragging rights and cross-community buzz.
4. Quest & Reward Engine – Future quests (e.g., “Grow your puddle to 5 friends”) pay out in GUI, tying community growth directly to token utility.

Challenges we ran into

What users see is a clean dashboard: a running balance, a simple “add funds” button, and playful progress bars that turn saving into a shared goal. Each member can join or leave at any time, so the experience feels as familiar as splitting a bill in a chat app.

When users turn on GUI Mode, the interest they earn is automatically converted to $GUI and staked, adding a touch of upside and community fun without extra steps. That small switch introduces newcomers to a token economy while giving GUI steady demand and locked liquidity.

In short, Puddle turns everyday savers into Aptos wallet holders, creates real on-chain activity, and proves that DeFi can look and feel like a consumer-grade finance app.
