Inspiration
as a person who is constantly moving from town to town looking for employment opportunities, its not easy to move around and find the places you are looking for. uber and transport modes like that turn to become too expensive so i wanted to simplify public transport so you don't only estimate using the time you were told but you can actually see that specific car approaching. in a new town you don't really know the times for their public transports but this makes it easy and not only that you also get to see shops that are next to you just incase you want to maybe grab something or do something in a nearby shop. this way its easier to navigate a new city without Hussle
How we built it
with the power of boltai i was able to incorporate most features but made some adjustments to the system
Challenges we ran into
asking people if they think they will use it and they say yes but when i explain how it will better life for travellers they turn to become skeptical of of it, but they are open to the idea of being able to see their trip and even keep track of it. another thing is the maps API which is a real struggle because its not easy or cheap
Accomplishments that we're proud of
when i ask if my potential users will be receptive to it the response is positive and alternative options for the map are also included like just writing the estimates and not showing the map
What's next for public transport and town economy
going public and actually being used daily for daily commuters who will know the exact time they leave and their time of arrival if there are any delays a notification will show up, while at the same time shops will gain more exposure as the passengers use this system which will bring more people to the store
