Government and organizations face challenges in collecting statistical data from multiple data sources needed for allocating resources and making data driven decisions.

What it does

Allow the public to directly provide statistical data to stakeholders in real-time. Users can log in and from their dashboard submit relevant data to organizations that is then aggregated and presented in charts and graphs, it can also be exported to portable formats.

How we built it

The initial pages for the frontend code were generated using bolt.new and polished with claude.ai. We made modifications to the code using VS Code to make the connection between our frontend code and our backend platform. For our backend platform we used Firebase to host our database to support our application features. Netlify was used to host the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge we faced were build errors during the process of developing the code, which kept us debugging to get it functional.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Having deployed the platform to the cloud in its simplest form for demo purposes.

What we learned

Although it typically takes more time to create a fully functional and full feature platform it is possible to design and implement a basic solution to a straightforward problem within a short timeframe.

What's next for Public Engagement Portal

To further develop the platform into a full-feature and out-of-the box solution with customizable options to suit the needs of different clients / stakeholders. We will continue to develop the code.

This app was built within 24 hours, and most of that time was dedicated in giving the codebase a perfect architecture and infinite scalability and maintainability. This was done because it makes no sense to code an app fast and quickly add as many features to it as possible, but can't maintain the codebase, since it's not scalable. This app will be god-tier if an multi-modal AI component is integrated into it.
