Psychora

Psychora is a mental wellness app that features a Chatbot using AI to chat with people about their feelings and mental struggles, and the AI provides resources and advice.

Inspiration

We wanted to mix both of our majors and passions into this project, and wanted to bridge the gap in an issue with both see often. My parents don't believe in therapy or Mental Health so it is hard to access help. The Idea and inspiration was to help those who are unable to go to Therapy or just need extra guidance or advice.

What it does

Psychora is a mobile app that incorporates AI as a way to help people struggling with mental health. Think of it as having a therapist or best friend in your pocket. It is user-friendly, as you can Journal your feelings and struggles, while also talking to our chatbot, Chora, for some advice. Chora is ready to respond immediately with some insight or resources for help. We also have our journaling option were you can write down how your day is going, keep track of tasks, and set goals for yourself. Of course, we made sure to include Lifelines and other mental health resources for help!

How we built it

We built it through Figma. Many designs were either edited with Adobe Express or with Procreate

Challenges we ran into

We were both beginners when it came to Figma, so navigating Figma was difficult at first. After some tutorials and some research, we definitely did the best we can and are very happy with the results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment that we were proud of was making the prototype work and be interactive! We were also proud of how nicely everything was laid out, especially in the short time we had. I think even just having so many different designs and following our passions was a huge accomplishment for us!

What we learned

We learned the basics of Figma and how UI/UX works and what can come from that. We both were a little unfamiliar with the UI/UX world but were very curious to learn more and CreateRU definitely helped with that. I think also listening to the speakers was also a very helpful learning curve. We learned the importance of communicating as a team, sharing creative ideas, and the basics of UI/UX designs!

What's next for Psychora

We would love to implement Psychora and launch it as a real app! We would definitely need more learning and advice for this, but this next step would be a very amazing accomplishment!
