Inspiration
I was inspired by a law firm that lost four cases because critical court deadlines were missed due to human error. That experience highlighted how many legal teams still rely on spreadsheets, paper files, and manual processes to manage complex litigation.
What it does
LEGES helps law firms organize case files, automate administrative tasks, track procedural deadlines, manage hearings, and maintain operational control over their legal practice.
How we built it
LEGES was built using Google Antigravity for development assistance, Firebase for hosting and data storage, and integrates with Google Workspace tools such as Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar. The platform also uses the Gemini API for document processing, automation, analysis, and legal drafting support.
Challenges we ran into
Security was one of my biggest challenges because LEGES handles highly sensitive legal information and each law firm must remain completely isolated from the others. But the hardest part was understanding the industry itself. We had to learn how lawyers actually work in Mexico, research legal processes, and design around workflows that are often resistant to change. We also learned that building a useful legal product requires more than AI: many of the best solutions came from understanding the problems that AI alone could not identify.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I built LEGES from zero into a working product that brings order to case files, deadlines, documents, and daily legal work. It has already helped lawyers save time on tasks such as document transcription and repetitive writing. More importantly, we turned the project into a real business and gained our first paying lawyer. We are proud to use AI not just to generate content, but to create specialized assistants that take over time-consuming tasks while keeping lawyers in control.
What we learned
I learned that law firms do not need more AI tools — they need more control. The real challenge is maintaining visibility over deadlines, hearings, case files, and team activity. We also discovered that the case file is the center of legal work, and AI creates the most value when it helps lawyers stay organized rather than replacing professional judgment.
What's next for Proyecto de Gestión Legal
LEGES is currently in beta. Our next goal is to validate the platform with real law firms, refine the user experience, and continue improving the product. Our long-term vision is to make LEGES the new standard for legal practice management in Mexico and eventually become the digital operating system for law firms across Latin America.
