Inspiration
While writing a research paper on blue whale reparation of DNA, I found out that mostly tools that are helpful on analyzing proteins are not that intuitive and they don't have a really usable UI, running on code or on old webpages that take too long to compile
What it does
Protheon, is in charge of making the analysis of different proteins easier and make it so that the protein analysis mechanics are all in one place, with a simple and understandable UI, that helps researchers make progress faster by reducing the time they need to spend looking at code and and analyzing individual protein strands.
How we built it
With the help of a deep seek module in the clade harness, I was able to build rapidly the mechanics of how the program understands proteins and how the different databases (NIH, UniProt, etc.) work with each other, and through a well defined plan and feel, the project was completed
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge of the project, was to make sure that the protein analysis was working, as many of the databases are outdated and they don't feature a thorough explanation on how to use them, instead relying on the subjects comprehension. So a big challenge was understanding how these work
What we learned
We learned that in order to make impactful things, not necessarily is efficient to code all of it, instead helps to delegate tasks to AI agents and focus on the bigger picture.
What's next for Protheon
The next steps for Protheon, are to make sure that it can enter the workforce as a tool that not only helps but facilitates development on cutting edge technologies. Moreover, more features are to be added like helping researchers with maximizing the binding sites of the proteins, using intermolecular charges and Lagrange multipliers
