Inspiration

Indonesia’s oceans hold extraordinary biodiversity, yet they’re increasingly choked by plastic. The projection of 800,000 tons of plastic flowing into Indonesian seas by 2025 pushed us to act. We set out to tell a cinematic, emotional story that shows how small, everyday choices can create meaningful impact.

What it does

Protect Our Oceans is a short AI-generated campaign video that raises awareness of the plastic waste crisis.

How we built it

Idea and Script I’m using the concept of some ocean animals made from plastic, because if we keep throwing plastic waste into the sea, most marine animals will become extinct. We will miss them so much that plastics themselves will start to look like sea creatures

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was working across multiple AI models,Midjourney, Kling, and Veo 3. and it was very difficult to communicate a highly specific idea: ocean animals made out of plastic debris, yet still resembling the creatures themselves.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

🏆 1st Prize Winner — Kling 2.1 Video Competition (Event). On the official Kling AI event post, the campaign video received a warm response. The majority of comments expressed how much viewers loved the concept and how touching and emotional the execution felt. Many highlighted that the visual storytelling made them reflect on the seriousness of plastic pollution, which showed that the message truly resonated with the audience.

What we learned

We realized that impressive visuals alone are not enough. Even with powerful AI models creating stunning images and motion also sound design and music are as critical as visuals for realism and emotion.

What's next for Protect Our Oceans

Wanna expand this campaign into a story series rather than a single standalone video. Each episode would focus on a different theme
