PROBLEM STATEMENT

The problem statement is mental health and Diversity & Inclusion.

SOLUTION PROPOSED

This app works to make it a safe space for people to share and respond to problems and help others. By remaining anonymous they can be feels safe and right at home, if they feel like so.

HOW MUCH WE WERE ABLE TO IMPLEMENT

We were able to add most of the functionality. Some things that we wanted to improve upon was- styling, and make better endpoints.

Inspiration

We all have been through mental health problem, we really wanted to voice out and someone should listen about our mental health. A safe place where you could post your problems and get the answer anonymously without worrying about who the viewer or the commentor is. Remain anonymous if you choose to! There's no compulsion on revealing yourself.

What it does

We have created a web app where people from all background can discuss about their mental health. The person who's having mental health problem will create a post about it. People from all over the world will discuss about the problem. The commentators are anonymous by default, preventing the panic that people get over who all reacted to their project. The problem posters can choose to remain anonymous, if they feel like so.

How we built it

We have built it using React.js, and use SAWO labs authentication for the frontend and auth respectively. We also have use node.js, express, and mongodb in our backend to store the post and the comments of the post.

Challenges we ran into

It took us a lot of time to integrate SAWO labs. One of our teammates never worked with MongoDB or No-SQL databases in general. It took a day for him to make database models and join them. Having different time zones makes it difficult to collab with, but everyone was able to communicate and work with each other.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we have made something that will help us whenever we have mental health problem. Collaborating for the first time, we are proud of how well we communicated with each other and were able to complete the project within given time.

THIS project was made entirely from scratch and within the hackathon hours.
